Expert Insights Series: Pediatric Interventional Radiology 2025

The primary goal of this course is to empower board-certified interventional radiologists with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to perform common pediatric procedures more safely, effectively, and scientifically. Upon completion of the training, learners will be able to:

  1. Apply Evidence-Based Techniques: Incorporate current best practices and guidelines into their procedural workflows to ensure evidence-based care for pediatric patients
  2. Enhance Patient Safety: Identify and mitigate procedural risks unique to pediatric cases, thereby improving overall safety and outcomes.
  3. Supplement Procedural Proficiency: Execute common pediatric interventional radiology procedures with precision, integrating child-specific anatomical and physiological consideration
  4. Optimize Pre- and Post-Procedure Care: Use systematic, well-thought-out approaches to patient evaluation, preparation, and follow-up tailored to the pediatric popula
  5. Build Confidence in Complex Cases: Develop a deeper understanding of pediatric-specific challenges, fostering confidence to tackle a wider range of cases independently and collaboratively.

By achieving these outcomes, learners will contribute to higher standards of care and better health outcomes for pediatric patients in a general interventional radiology practice.
