Learning Objectives

  • Describe normal and variant arterial anatomy of the viscera supplied by the celiac axis, including the liver, stomach and spleen.
  • Describe normal and variant arterial anatomy of the viscera supplied by the superior mesenteric artery, including the pancreas, small intestine and proximal colon.
  • Describe normal and variant arterial anatomy of the viscera supplied by the inferior mesenteric artery, including the distal colon and rectum.
  • Describe normal and variant arterial anatomy of the kidneys. 
  • Describe the normal location and origin of the gonadal arteries.
